Give your child a confident start to the 11+ journey. This Year 3 bridge course, led by Dr Nadhee, prepares pupils for the step up to our rigorous Year 4 11+ programme by building the core Maths and English foundations they need.

Format: Weekly 2-hour class
Maths (1 hour): Number skills, problem-solving, and Non-Verbal Reasoning (patterns, shapes, spatial awareness)
English (1 hour): Comprehension, Spelling, Grammar, Verbal Reasoning, vocabulary building (taught, practised and tested)

Exam-condition testing centre

From February, we run weekly special exam-condition tests (timed, invigilated, marked and taught) every week until the September exams, with score tracking and targeted feedback.

Year 6

SATs Preparation

Structured SATs preparation that builds the English and Maths skills needed for KS2 success — using proven 11+ techniques to accelerate reasoning and exam confidence.

Format: Weekly 3-hour class
English (1.5 hours): with Miss Alex
Maths (1.5 hours): with Dr Nadhee

ENGLISH (MISS ALEX) — SATs (KS2) FOCUS

Reading Comprehension: fiction, non-fiction, poetry; retrieval, inference, vocabulary in context, summary, author’s choices.
SPaG: grammar terminology, sentence structure, verb forms/tenses, punctuation (commas, apostrophes, speech marks, colons/semicolons), plus the 20-word spelling test.
Methods: timed reading strategies (skim/scan, evidence-based answers), mark-scheme keywords, targeted SPaG drills, and past-paper practice.

MATHS (DR NADHEE) — CONDENSED 11+ METHODS FOR SATs & BEYOND

Arithmetic Fluency: all operations, long methods, fractions/decimals/percentages.
Reasoning: multi-step word problems, bar models, ratio/proportion, measures, geometry, data/graphs.
Exam Skills: timed drills, error-spotting, checking strategies, and clear working.

HOMEWORK

Weekly homework: minimum 2 hours (with vocabulary/spelling and mixed-topic Maths practice).

OUTCOMES

Test-ready performance for May SATs in English and Maths.
Strong methods and confidence for a smooth transition to secondary school.

Class 5

Years 7–11

English, Maths & Science — 3-Hour Programme

Our structured programme groups students into Higher or Foundation sets based on baseline assessments, with regular re-testing to promote progression. The curriculum is designed to teach ahead of school year content, building student confidence while stretching high performers. Learners follow a four-week cycle of targeted instruction and weekly homework. From Year 9 onward, past and predicted exam papers are introduced, and in Years 10–11 students complete timed assessments. English is delivered as a continuous system that develops from literacy foundations to advanced Grade 8/9 skills in comprehension and writing.

Year 7 — Bridge & Build

  • Science: Core Biology, Chemistry, Physics with practical skills and scientific enquiry.
  • Teach Ahead: Year 8 content preview across all subjects.
  • Assessment: Week 5 mini-mocks; targets set based on performance.

Year 8 — Consolidate & Extend

  • English: Advanced comprehension, comparison skills, structured paragraph writing, vocabulary development.
  • Maths: Reasoning, algebraic manipulation, ratio and geometry mastery.
  • Science: Extended KS3 content + data analysis and experiments.
  • Teach Ahead: Early GCSE content to ease KS4 transition.

Year 9 — Early GCSE Foundation
